Default Queensland about to be battered by category 5 cyclone
Dunno what to say but I feel sorry for them. From what I heard it's meant to be the largest cyclone ever, but my sources of information may be incorrect.

If only the cyclone could hit Victoria instead so it would rid the massive bushfires. Come to think about it Australia has been getting battered pretty bad lately

Last I heard it'd dropped to grade four - still nasty though.

I have always lived in places where hurricanes, tornado's and etc were more of an excuse to skip school and have a bit of excitement than a real concern. (except for maybe a sucky power outage)

I can't imagine how scary it must feel to have such a thing coming at you as a real threat.

I live in the southern-most part of the current warning "watch" area. Meaning that I'm supposed to think about the possibility of having to become prepared, more or less. Of course the wife immediately wants to buy barrels of drinking water, tinned food and batteries. I'm expecting we might get flooded, but not expecting the wind to start damaging anything.

Yeah they come along the Queensland coast once in a while. Or there's a lot of rain and wind from ones that stay offshore. Larry came along just a little less than 3 years ago:

That was further North, which is more typical. Back in the 70's one came far enough South that Brisbane (capital city) was flooded.

Clearly made from softstuff.

Well I hope it doesn't hit and everything is all fine. I'm due to be in Brisbane on the 26th. Oh if any onions are in the area you're more than welcome to hang out. I'll be around Until April 5th.

Don't you worry Lenny, I've got balls of steel.

And tins of soup, 2 large bottles of water, a first aid kit and a battery powered radio.

Now if I could just find the Valium....
