Default Can HD files be encoded "in 24p"?
I dont know much about the whole issue, but I do know that the HD TV should support 24p, in order to play back BluRays microstutterfree.

Anyway, my friend bought a Toshiba HD TV, unfortunately he didnt look for the 24p support, and it turned out it has no such support.

So now even movie files stutter, trailers for example. Can these movies be "changed" to a 25p format? Or are they even 24p?

Sorry for the probably stupid question, lol.

I assume by 24p, you're talking about the refresh rate of the display right?

Changing the FPS of the video is possible however I do not know whether it will fix the motion glitches that appear on displays without the 24Hz support. You'll need to reencode the video to do it and for a HD video, it's going to be quite wait for it to finish encoding.

IF his using a PS3 i think you can disable the 24p setting, if he is using a PC the refresh rate will be whats set in the graphics cards control centre.

Its a PC and we tried changing the Hz in the NVidia control panel, but 24Hz isnt an option, since the TV doesnt support it. We can chose from 25Hz, 29Hz, 30Hz, 50Hz and 60Hz.

Try making a custom res that is a multiple of 24. 48 or 72hz may work.
