This is # 20,000! But is the thread count a total number of threads still alive or is the thread count all time? Either way congrats FM for such a successful GD forum!

If by "all time" you mean since the new boards came online then yes; as far as I know no threads (except troublesome ones) have been deleted since then. On the old boards threads used to have a 30(?) day expiry limit after which they were automatically deleted but that's not the case now.
