Part of me wishes youtube didn't even exist, because mentally retarded people such as this wouldn't get any publicity.

I am sad that HDDVD died, more competition is good for us. And dual players were bound to go down in price.

I'm not. I also don't see how prices would be affected by competition. If you mean players, then a player that has both BR and HDDVD tech inside it is going to be higher in cost versus the comparable standalone. If you mean the discs, I don't see how a distributor is going to lower prices when they have to distribute in 2 different formats while producing yields in half the numbers they would have if there was only 1 format.

I somewhat agree that the prices are outrageous compare to DVDs but I remember DVDs were also lame prices when it was new so we will just have to wait.

Anyway, that they think DVD top BluRay or even come close in form of quality, I simply couldnt disagree more. Maybe DVD has something technically that made something for its age compare to BR but the feeling from a BR, no way DVD is even close to that! [surrender]

Having two competing incompatible formats wasn't good for anyone. It was just VHS v Betamax all over again. Before DVD came out there were going to be several different formats but the companies got together and decided on a single format. Why they couldn't have done that with BD/HD-DVD I don't know.

I came across this youtube comment on the 4th movement of Dvořák's New World Symphony a few days ago and nearly spit out my coffee. I saved it for posterity:

"This is a blatant rip off of the Jaws theme, except this is not as good. I prefer Vivaldi, now there was a guitarist."

[rofl] Brilliant.

Or sticking with Dvorak, "zomg they ripped off the Hovis advert music!"

I wonder if these jokers have a 1080p HDTV or if they have only seen BD movies on a 36" glass tube, cause I have a 1080p and I see a damn huge difference in IQ. **** just look at the planet earth series

and yes the prices are outta control

I lawled at the 3rd link where the kid says that anyone who has BD is gay and they can all f*ck his big fat ass....
none of those dude had any concret evidence or comments, just their personal opinion....

Those are hilarious, that first guy is a full blown nutcase. "Blu-ray strobes and the sound is muffled." [rofl]

It is impressive how none of them seemed to know anything about the format really whatsoever, it was all just a bunch of made up information and their opinions.

but it is something I hate is that the stores are doing on purpose for setting the contrast and color to the max. i seen a few store doing it for different brands they want to push and that feel abit dishonest imo, or maybe the saleman are just complete noobs.

it's insane when you know better than the saleman and they try to sound like they know what they are talking about.

I once had a salesman at Best Buy tell me that Monitor X was better than Monitor Y because it had a lower ping.
