Could these tentacles of light simply be electrical discharge from the generator as it was damaged?

They will find the blade in time no doubt.

It's funny all these ET style UFO theories. What the hell would a being so intelligent as to master space travel be doing running into a wind turbine [rofl]

IMO it's simply a disgruntled land owner who does not want the turbines on their property.

It's not the why but the HOW that is of interest here...

'cause they're delusional or drunk or just freaks in general. Thats one explaination. The other one is 100% plausible and at its end has nothing to do with aliens and UFOs. You might probably need an engineer, and physicist and a meteorologist for it though.

If the land owner didn't want them there surely they wouldn't be there.
Not that hard I would say, shotgun comes to mind.
I can't see a shotgun causing that kind of damage.

Well, something did probably hit it... Or it was indeed fatigue.
And if we don't know what hit it, then it's called a UFO...

....and saw a “massive ball of light with tentacles going right down to the ground” over the wind farm. He said: “It was huge. With the tentacles it looked just like an octopus.” complete load of tosh.

The blade isn't missing at all, that was someone misreporting the facts. It was on the ground exactly where you'd expect it to be if it fell off.

HaHa, I'm very open minded, and I am quite willing to accept aliens etc, but even this is just retarded as saying aliens had something to do with Elvis..

oh wait....

First off, it's actually very difficult to cause that kind of damage even if you wanted to. (unless you have a 50 cal rifle lying around somewhere, or a crane that goes offroad.)

Secondly, if an aircraft hit it, surely ppl would know about it.

Thirdly, (unless the Sun just completely lied to us, which isn't all that unlikely) if it was metal fatigue, why has no one found the blade?

If you take everything at face value then this does seem to be a strange event.
