Default IT Guys...what should I make?
In US $$ with this experience...

A+, Network+, and Server+ certs
6 years total IT experience, coming up on 3 with my current company

My position is internal and external client support and administration...everything from desktop issue to building and deploying servers and small networks setups.

I handle backup jobs, exchange, AD, and some IIS and Firewall setups as well.

I also act as our IP based phone administrator and I handle all Blackberry and Windows Mobile phones (probably total of about 100).

What should my range be?

Somebody correct me if i'm way off base here.

I'd GUESTIMATE somewhere around $60,000/year to 70,000/year If you are in more of a network administrator position, rather than a field tech. A field tech maybe around $40,000/year give or take 5/10 grand.

Company and location will obviously play a role in this too though.

It's a network administrator role with remote tech work for offsite offices.

There are quite a few similar, or better, qualified people coming on the market - best option would probably be to make discrete inquiries with some tech' requitment agencies - they'll know the market and how your experience/qualifications will fit there.

I would say 50-65K because most of that work can and WILL be out-sourced by any company that can afford to have it at all.

Asking if you're getting underpaid for your work?
