Default How long does it take for an order from Amazon.com to reach the UK
I ordered a BD set from them and when my order was being processed it said it would be despatched on Monday and was estimated to arrive on the 24th of December. I just got an email saying it's been despatched but now the eta is the 7th of January!

For me it was about a week to 2 weeks, but as you've ordered on the worst time of the year, expect some delays (why they've given such a long turn around until your delivery eta)

Cheers.

I was just wondering why it had changed from the 24th to the 7th of January.

I think Amazon likes to give you the worst case so you don't get pissy. I ordered a game once (from Amazon.ca to Canada, so "locally") and it arrived a good week and a bit before they estimated it would.

More than likely to cover their own backs and to try to reduce the amount of calls of "Wheres my parcel" over the busy period [yes]

To Finland it takes anything from a week (priority airmail) to 2 months (economy), but most orders arrive in about 3-4 weeks on average from shipment day. To UK, probably a day or two less.

even here in the US they usually say something crazy like 14 days for delivery. My mom ordered my wifes christmas present last week from there and got an email today saying it was out of stock till after new years. she is pretty pissed off.

It's limited to books, CDs and DVDs though. And you have to stay under your import tax limits, otherwise you have to pay import taxes and VAT on top of the items.

Why would you want to get something from the US if you can get it from the UK?

Weak dollar = cheaper price. Though it's not as weak anymore, as it was last summer.

Yeah but what happens if there's something wrong with and you have send it back? Also in the UK you have the right to return any order you decide you don't want, I don't think you can do that with the US. And when you factor in the weak Pound atm and tax and such you won't save much, if anything at all.

"Specialist needs"?

They only sell the Fleshlight in Amazon US... [yes]

I had to return a few CDs I ordered and there were no issues. You just message the seller, tell the situation (in my case, a wrong CD arrived), and they'll give you an address to mail it to. Once the item arrived, they refunded it + shipping costs. I've had to return items three times and it always worked out fine.
