Default Its that time of the year again..
So I walked in the mall today and all I see everywhere is Christmas decorations, music, and yes they even had Santa taking pictures with the kids, and even pets!! I am by no means a "scrooge" I want nothing more than my son to enjoy his first Christmas, but my god we haven't even had Thanksgiving yet! Am I the only one who thinks that this holiday is an overkill? It certainly makes me care less about the holiday itself.

In the past I've seen shops with the Christmas stuff up in September over here. And we had carol singers call at the door the other week. [rolleyes]

I dont really mind that celebrations start a month in advance..after all, what is the harm in it? It makes children feel good and they look forward to the holidays and the actual day so much more.

Its a nice build up, Scrooge(s)

I'm kinda tired of this myself. Not a day after Halloween they had that crap up in walmart here. I'm no scrooge, but damn actually sorta hate christmas mostly because of how fake it all is. How every is so "fake" about being happy and nice towards everyone.

Christmas has lost it's tradition.

It's all mainstream and commercialised now.

I worked at John Lewis in Oxford Street for 7 years and the christmas department would open in September. By the time December arrived i was totally fed up with it. I just wish people would wait until December before any music, decorations or anything to do with it are used. That way we might all enjoy it a little better.

It's just yet another way of the corps trying to get people to spend more money earlier is all. Pretty soon Black Friday will be the day after Halloween or somethin...

The day after halloween our wal-mart had already completely changed over to christmas. Halloween gets like 1 week, christmas is 2 months.

I couldn't care less about christmas anymore. It stops being special when they beat it to death over 2 months.

Well I decided the crack out the USB snowman today at work for XMas, and he is here sitting underneath my 12" figure of Marcus Fenix lighting him up in a rather homosexual dash of bright colours.

Well direct from the corporate mouth its early this year because of the economic problems, they think if they start christmas sales and stuff early people will spread their spending out and still end up buying the same amount. Alot of families dont have the same amount of money laying around to buy present and such all at once this year.

it used to be they would put out sales and decorations after Thanksgiving, but retailers decided to milk it for all it's worth starting wiht Halloween.

I love Thanksgiving and Christmas though, for the cultural tradition, religious tradition and family reasons. I could do without the ridiculous commercialism and sappy commercials.
