Isn't this all sort of based on Freud's theories, that our parents are the first people we love, that they are our role models for womanhood/manhood so we inevitably carry those impressions into our adulthood when looking for a partner (sub-consciously, of course).
I mean, doesn't everyone here look for women who resemble their mother, so when your pounding away you can look down and go "Take that mom!"........ [ban] |

Well I know I don't hold my father as a role model or ideal man. So to me that theory goes out the window. Now if I wanted a greedy prick as a role model then yes....he'd be it. ![]() I look for women with quality like my mother... not physical but qualities interms of caring, fun, outgoing, honest, and committed. When I see a woman that looks like my mother.... I start to feel violated/disturbed. |

Makes sense. Your dad is usually the most trustworthy man you've ever known, so you associate his looks with being trustworthy and caring, which I guess is what women want out of men.... ![]() |
