I just watched a movie with him in it called Wanted.

And I quite liked Shawshank Redemption. Its such a shame that he's in this current state. Did he have internal bleeding or something as the article states that he was conscious and joking around with the rescue crew. How did he go from that into a serious condition?

I thought it was a movie title [no]

Hope he's ok,
"They had to use the jaws of life to extract him from the vehicle," McFerrin said. "He was lucid, conscious. He was talking, joking with some of the rescue workers at one point." Sounds like it wasn't too life threatening.

UPDATE: The Clairon-Ledger has a very positive update:

Actor Morgan Freeman suffered some broken bones in a car accident Sunday, but will recover, friends said this afternoon.
Freeman, 71, and a passenger, Demaris Meyer, age unknown, were airlifted to a Memphis hospital following a single-car accident around 11:30 pm. Meyer's condition was not immediately available.
Freeman’s business partner, Bill Luckett of Clarksdale, visited with the actor at the hospital today and said Freeman will be fine.
"He's resting quietly and has some fractures. Nothing life-threatening. Nothing permanent," Luckett said. "He's in good spirits, but he's in some pain." Filmmaker Paul Saltzman said Freeman suffered a broken shoulder and a broken arm and expected recovery time will be six to eight weeks. [thumbup]

Glad to hear it wasn't life-threatening. Freeman is one of my favorite all-time actors. [shocked]

Just read the news on bbc, was quite shocked and saddened. The bbc haven't updated nothing yet, so that article saying he is all well except some broken bones is good news! Flipping a car several times at the age of 71 and just having some broken bones is pretty bad ass, lol.

He is such an awesome actor, I love watching any film with him in it [yes]

Just echoing everyone else's thoughts, hes an awesome actor, hope he makes a speedy recovery and am very happy he's not seriously hurt.

For 71 and to flip a car though, and to only get a few fractures, damn I wish I could do that when I'm that age!!

Thank goodness he's ok. He's a brilliant actor, and it only made me sad when I heard he was in a serious condition.

Hope he gets well soon.

to be honest I thought he was older than 71.. Anyway glad to hear he's ok, but I hope he won't play in movies like "Wanted" anymore.. gosh what a crap movie was that and totally not something I'd see him in
