Seat Leon Cupra I say.

That Dodge looks like a toy car, awful. The others are Vauxhalls.

Yeah man, stay away from Opel.

As it seems fuel consumption doesnt concern you, so the Dodge isnt bad. If you pick the Seat you should be aware of the little space it has for the rear passengers. Its definately no family car. But if its just for you and your GF you should pick that one. VW technology and craftsmanship.

Well I have owned 5 Vectras so I have nothing against Opel
The car is mainly just for me and my wife...

What I like about the Vectra is the V6 engine (gotta love the sound ) and lots and lots of space...

But on the other hand Seat would be a new car....

Seems like our Saturn Aura came from your Opel. They are the same things, and here in the States, the Aura is getting some pretty awesome reviews across the board, so that Opel has to be a pretty good ride itself.
So seems like you can't go wrong with the Vectra, especially with that killer 2.8L V6 engine. Everything off the Elipson platform are great cars, and the Opel Vectra is one of them.

You guys get 295hp on the SRT4!? Here in the States we only get 280hp.
Reviews on it say that it is a decent car, but nothing spectacular with the other vehicles that are in the same price range that perform better a cross the board. But it is a great car, and I think that is the car that I would have to go for myself.

The Seat is built off the same platform as some of our Audi's and VW's and they are nice cars, but have reliability issues here in the states. Well, mostly VW does, and I am not sure if Seat is supposed to be below VW or not over there in the Euro. So, if it is below VW, I would expect even worse reliability out of that car.

I think the power difference comes from the fuel... Here it's 95 / 98 / 99+... It's 95 premium there?

That's because VW's over there are made in Mexico. In the EU, they're made in Germany I believe and they're definately rock solid over here.

I know that your 98 octane is our 93 octane. So it shouldn't matter too much. Though maybe the SRT4 is tuned for 91 octane. I know that a lot of states on go as high as 91 octane, I think mostly on the west side of the Mississippi River.
So fuel could be it.

Might very on model. Seems like VW's and a lot of things off this platform are made every, and some still being made in Europe but in places like Spain, ect. Seems like you will only know when you actually go to the dealership. Though last time I went to the VW dealership, a majority of pretty much all the models were from Germany. Final Assembly though I am sure is the issue.

Yay for you then and boo for VW America. Here they are among the best, top notch, and since he'll buy in Europe I doubt he'd get a car made in America.

I used to hate VW when I was younger but the latest VW's I've been seeing are quite nice.

Also whats the difference between fuels and what are the advantages of using it? My mate told me to use Premium over the standard Unleaded so I did/do even though it costs me several dollars more to fill my car up.

for the fuel, just get the lowest octane rating your car reccomends. Anything higher is just a waste of money

lol you couldn't be more wrong [rofl]

Higher octane rating = more power and less fuel consumption.
Especially in modern turbocharged cars difference migh be as high as 20-30HP between 95 and 98...

And from my own experiences it costs about the same to drive with 98 as it does with 95...

So in other words the higher price of better fuel is made up by giving your car more performance and on top of that better mileage? Actually that would make it cheaper. there only like a 4-5c per litre difference in standard unleaded and premium.

I suppose why we are on topic with performance. Is there any way to increase the performance of a car (say part upgrades etc) without actually decreasing fuel consumption (by a lot) and changing the sound of the car? theres a highway I drive along quite a lot and it changes from 60km to 80km but it goes uphill and my car doesn't have the power to accelerate to those speeds (well it does but compared to other cars you watch passing you its slow). I usually have to increase speed to 80km before the hill starts and I've always been worried about being caught by police.

How many people across the pond actually own a SRT4? Might make you stand out a lot if that matters at all.

There are 130 of them in Finlanda atm... And more coming I'm sure. Can't beat the power/price ratio...
