No offense, but you shouldn't just go saying things like that without the whole picture. There was some fear mongering going on and people got worked up for nothing because they weren't told the whole picture. In fact, there are, imo idiots, people who are trying to sue the DOE, Fermilab, CERN and such over the issue.
Sure there is a chance that a black hole will be created. If Hawking is right it will evaporate. Even so, there are cosmic rays hitting the earth with order magnitude 7-8 times higher energy than will be produced at the LHC. LSAG [LHC Safety Assessment Group] reaffirms and extends the conclusions of the 2003 report that LHC collisions present no danger and that there are no reasons for concern.
