From this day forth, the credits on Top Gear should run over a video of James May riding that little bike.
Preferably set to the Benny Hill music. I don't know why, but even though I can appreicate what a technological marvel the GTR is, I can't help but think it just looks like a Captain Chavmobile. Still, I'll be looking forward to when they can put it around the track (hopefully when its dried out a bit, I've never seen it so wet! [surrender]) |

Instead of turning the car, you tell the computer to turn the car. That said, I think its a cool car, but my fantasy money won't be buying one, rather own a TVR (never will, I'll never see on in the US) or a C6 Z06. |

I agree, it seems that all of the BMW pricks who moved to Audi according to Jeremy will jump on the GT-R bandwagon. |

have you guys read this?
Clarksons written review of the GT-R I dare say that if Michael Schumacher were to find himself in the eye of an Arctic blizzard, escaping from an exploding volcano, he might discover 10% of this car’s abilities. But you? Me? Here? Forget it. Nissan, then, has done something odd. It has built a car for a time and a place and a species that simply don’t exist. but anyways, i was a little disappointed by the "race". hopefully when they do a follow up video review they will show more of it rather than cruising on a highway. that said, even if they did stick it round the track on such a wet day, i would think it would still be at the pointy end. no other car could beat it in those conditions. and for those of you that say it doesnt have soul or anything, try driving one of its older brothers. even though i didnt drive a proper gt-r, only a slightly modded gts25t, there is something about it thats pretty special. its not just a jap box with wheels that goes fast. it was 100% more fun that driving a SS ute with a LS1 which was about 6 years newer. and i wouldnt think they would drop the skyline name to rid the association with it being "just a car with fast bits added later" and make a pure GT-R and take steps backwards. edit: also, my brothers car is a 91 year nissan, and it has attesa 4wd. people think that the technology "gets in the way" but i can tell you, rocketing out of corners when the g sensor detects sidewaysness and sends some power to the front wheels is pretty awesome. much more fun than plain awd which does understeer until your almost thru the corner, and rwd which wastes power not putting it to the road |

haha yeh and when he was talking to the petrol pump attendant "bill oddie...he can spot your beaver a mile away" lol! I also found the two guest drivers amusing (and strangely attractive, despite they are both probably a fair few years older than me...I prefered the one on the right ![]() The race as a whole wasn't their best. A solid, yet uninspiring episode this week. |

I laughed very hard at that point [rofl] Loved the bit where James and Richard found they were on the wrong trains. ![]() |

I think the problem with the GTR is that it all seems computerized and just doesn't give you any feedback with the driving.
As stated before, you tell the computer to turn the car, not you that physically turns the car. Having the automatic twin clutch gear box, may be faster, but it takes the essence of driving and fun that a manual would provide. |

GTR in my opinion is exactly the opposite to the Alfa, it may be faster all around and handle better and probably last longer, but if it was me, I wouldn't fart on the GTR, it's rubbish simply because it's a tech statement and I don't want that. I have a TVR to push myself, I don't want silly **** interrupting me... infact I'm in the process of buying another car, and it's either another TVR or an RX8 (just for more economy)...
The GTR suck in looks and I wouldn't even get in the thing to be honest. Not my cuppa... Man I nearly p1ssed myself when Clarkson went "ugger bugger" at that Tokyo women with the mask on... man... my lad was laughing his head off. Great episode me thinks...[thumbup][thumbup][thumbup] |
