Default How is Netflix for Blu-Ray selection?
I'm thinking of signing up for Netflix solely as a source of Blu-Ray movies. How is the selection, and is there a better value for BD movies?

They have said they are planning to raise prices for people who get Blu-Ray. Not sure when or how much. But, you can search their selection online.

I don't get Blu-Ray discs from Netflix, just DVDs so, the above is all I know.

I see, that's kind of lame if they raise the price. It's already pretty lame that BD movies are $30 MSRP.

Is there a better place to rent them from?

Netflix bowed to the pressure when it came to removing member profiles, so, maybe they will bow to the pressure of not charging more for Blu-Ray movies.

I think Blockbuster has Blu-Ray as well. But I hate Blockbuster. Netflix probably has the most movies.

And, don't make fun of me for this, but, look at your local library. Seriously. Mine has Wii games, Blu-Ray discs. Oh, and books... I guess.

Hah, I work at my local library and already get all the regular DVDs I want for free. We have 360 and PS2 games, but no BD movies. You must live in a big city if your public library has Wii games and Blu-Ray movies. Our libraries (we have two in the same city) serves 200,000 people and most of the staff have no idea what Blu-Ray is.

Hey Dolf,

Been a Netflix member specifically for blu-ray, and I must say they have a great selection. Pretty much every new movie is available, plus a great selection of older movies. After having a subscription (just like Gamefly), I cannot imagine ever buying another movie again.

I have been using netflix for blu-ray too and so far I have to say that the selection is pretty good. No complaints here. I will complain if they raise the prices for BD tho...

I'm another Netflix user. I've been pretty satisfied with their Blu-ray selection. Been a customer for about 5 years now.

I heard they wanted to try to raise the price, but so far, I haven't seen anything about that.

I use Netflix watch it now all the time. It doesn't work right using a x360 and media center...but it does work. Since then I have a laptop with HDMI and it has been pure gravy.

My BD experience is mixed, it has gotten much better in the past two months but was poor from xmas until april.

raising prices for BD would be a mistake. While they do cost more, they also do not scratch and therefore can be in service much longer with no issue.
