Just started playing this spring and it's become one of my favorite hobbies so far.. I'm not anything special but I really enjoy playing. Today I bought a Star Wraith and I already have a Champion Beast and a DX Aviar, but the Beast left something to be desired IMO, which is why I picked up the Wraith and I'm very happy with it. I started shooting forehand as well and I picked up about 100 on my drives and sunk an 83 foot putt in the same day!
I live in SE Michigan so I tend to play a lot at Firefighter's Park because it seems to be the best kept and the most fun, heres a video of a guy playing the course (nobody I know, I actually just found this today while i was looking at technique videos and I thought it was cool that he played there too): Todd Griesen Anyone else out there play? Show yourself! |

I just started in the spring with some friends of mine. Got a Valkyrie for distance, Shark for the mid range, and Rhyno for putt and approach. I have used the beast too and didn't really like it so I got the Valkyrie, and its been a great disc, you should try one out if you can.
I only have one local course to play on and its very wooded and technical. Here is a link to the PDGA site for it http://www.pdga.com/course/courses_by_city.php?id=1981 I also got to play a few different courses in Charleston, SC when I was living there over the past few months, they have some pretty nice courses. I did manage to get 6 under par on my second time playing, almost beating the friend that introduced me to the sport. ![]() |

Yep.
My favorite disc ever is the Star SL. It has Innova's newest plastic, stronger than Champion plastic but with a better feel than traditional. It is pink, affectionately known as Pinkie...my driver. Pink, by the way may get a couple looks but is the easiest color to find I have every used. Star plastic is freaking great stuff....I regularly clock trees at full tilt and the thing has no damage...and unlike champions it feels nice and has a good grip. I have a little bag with like 6 discs. In my area of the Pacific Northwest we have absolutely beautiful courses, free to the public, with "old" growth towering fir trees. It is amazing.... Honestly disc golf is more fun for me than standard golf and a heck of a lot cheaper... |

My buddy graduated their a couple of years ago. How long have the frisbee golf posts been up? anyways, disc golf is a lot of fun. I haven't played in a while, but i used to play all the time in Colorado. A lot of the ski resorts (like breckenridge and vail) have disc golf courses on the mountain when the snow melts. Very beautiful setting to have some relaxed fun. |
