So maybe i missed it, but what did you do to get hit with 80 hours of slavery ? Funny thing is they found me guilty of assault and gave me community service and a £400 fine, but if i dont pay them their money then they send me to prison. so "assault" someone = fine. Dont pay them the goverment there money = prison That sums it all up for me and the UK juditial system. |

If you were in the USA I'd tell you to take a picture of your feet before starting your CS, wear their boots, make sure you get a nasty foot fungus while doing your CS, then sue the living garbage out of whoever made you wear some other guy's boots. [rofl]
I'd have to agree that wearing boots that have been worn by countless others is pretty gross. So much sweat, possible blister breakage, etc that can stay in there forever. I think that if I were in your situation and they wouldn't allow me to wear my own pair of steel toed boots, I'd find out who makes them and purchase my own pair of the same make and model, if possible. 80 hours in nasty ass boots can't be good. ![]() |

Jesus Christ!
Grow a set of balls already! Its a pair of bloody boots and its highly unlikely you'll catch anything from them, just wear a couple pairs of socks or if your that assed buy a pair of goretex socks and wear those, because they allow sweat out but nothing gets in. http://www.the-outdoor.co.uk/ishop/853/shopscr135.html I know you were working as a Door supervisor (aka Bouncer), So I take it you've lost your Licence too, because of this little "Brush past someone" ?? If not, count yourself lucky and get on with your punishment, like a man. |

If you ask your supervisor before you start work they will provide a pair of disposable socks that fit over your regular socks.
They are sort of like ankle socks that allow your foot to breathe but don't allow anything through the other way. Although that said as long as your own boots are steel toe capped, & offer ankle protection then they are acceptable. BTW you should only have to wear safety boots when working outdoors or when operating machinery. If you have indoor work such as painting & decorating tasks then usually regular shoes/ trainers are acceptable. |
