So maybe i missed it, but what did you do to get hit with 80 hours of slavery ?

Then i wouldn“t see any problem, as the producer and typ of the shoe is probably written down in some security policy.
I brushed passed someone and got accused of pushing them "assault" pfffft.

Funny thing is they found me guilty of assault and gave me community service and a £400 fine, but if i dont pay them their money then they send me to prison.

so

"assault" someone = fine.
Dont pay them the goverment there money = prison

That sums it all up for me and the UK juditial system.

I suspect there's more to it than that.

it was oviously an exageration.. yeh thanks for wishign 2 years upon me because i dont want to put on filthy boots when i have my own.

Anyway my point is, i do have my own steal toe boots. Theres no varying elvels of boots, as i said there either steal toe capped boots or not so how the hell they can say ther enot insured unless i put on boots that belong to them is beyond me.
How far do you want this rule to apply? Your company has specific truck that's insured for hauling hazardous materials but you've got a Ford F-350 so you are going to use that? You work at a school and they have a nice mini bus insured for the students but you've got an econoline van so they can sit in the back of that?

What are you blathering about now? Your punishment for assaulting someone is a fine. If you don't pay that fine the punishment is going to prison. What do you expect them to do? Say "Don't worry, old chap. Don't pay the fine if you don't want to"? [rolleyes]

It's not a "stealth tax". You committed a crime and you've been issued with a punishment. Deal with it.

If you were in the USA I'd tell you to take a picture of your feet before starting your CS, wear their boots, make sure you get a nasty foot fungus while doing your CS, then sue the living garbage out of whoever made you wear some other guy's boots. [rofl]

I'd have to agree that wearing boots that have been worn by countless others is pretty gross. So much sweat, possible blister breakage, etc that can stay in there forever. I think that if I were in your situation and they wouldn't allow me to wear my own pair of steel toed boots, I'd find out who makes them and purchase my own pair of the same make and model, if possible. 80 hours in nasty ass boots can't be good.

Jesus Christ!
Grow a set of balls already!
Its a pair of bloody boots and its highly unlikely you'll catch anything from them, just wear a couple pairs of socks or if your that assed buy a pair of goretex socks and wear those, because they allow sweat out but nothing gets in.

I know you were working as a Door supervisor (aka Bouncer), So I take it you've lost your Licence too, because of this little "Brush past someone" ??

If not, count yourself lucky and get on with your punishment, like a man.

Just wear Plastic bags ontop of your socks, then put on the boots.
That way it“s almost as if your feet were wearing condoms [yes]

i'd do as one of the above posters says, wear blastic bags on your feet and then put socks over them , put some talcum powder on your feet first though so they dont get really sweaty from the plastic bags

I'd put the plastic over the socks. Wearing plastic all day long would be unbearable, IMO.

Put plastic bags over your feet will make them sweat and you will end up with worse foot fungus than just wearing the damn boots lol

If you ask your supervisor before you start work they will provide a pair of disposable socks that fit over your regular socks.
They are sort of like ankle socks that allow your foot to breathe but don't allow anything through the other way.

Although that said as long as your own boots are steel toe capped, & offer ankle protection
then they are acceptable.

BTW you should only have to wear safety boots when working outdoors or when operating machinery.
If you have indoor work such as painting & decorating tasks then usually regular shoes/ trainers are acceptable.

So because you pretty much shoulder bumped someone you got charged with assault? Thats crazy. People are getting more and more pathetic these days. No offence to anyone living over in the uk (i'm sure it's a nice place to live) but the laws over there suck. (and yes i know how it's getting over here in the usa [no]) Been reading some stuff and it just amazes me what you can and can't do. Like if someone assaults you and you fight back, you can be charged with assault also. If someone breaks into your house, you can't touch them much less forcibly remove them w/out fear of being charged with assault or something along those lines.
