Default $2.49/gal Gasoline. Too good to be true?

I can see them doing this and honoring it, but I am just wondering, if you do this, are you basically selling your soul to the spam mail / e-mail community?
I would like to hop on this program, but it just seems like something I would end up regretting.

$2.49/gal for 15 gallons gift card, and nothing is taxable until $600 worth of savings. So not sure if it would even be worth $600 in savings. The amount of time and what not put into the program.

[rofl]
I like how all of California's red. I saw some stations at $4.90 a few days ago, but I still wouldn't do this promo.

This program requires your participation in the advertiser promotion of your choice in exchange for the gasoline cards. Buy stuff to save money? pass...

I pay for everything with my citi rewards card, pay it off, then cash in my points for gas cards. I wouldn't mind getting a little more spam if it meant saving on gas.
