To be fair it's easy to say what you 'might' have done had you been there from your chair at home watching it on a computer. I'm sure most people on this forum would have acted in the same manner and just observed to make sure she didn't get physical.

Obviously when you see it on the internet you think "well i'd have slapped her upside the head and told her to sit and shut up!"[thumbup]

I found this video more amusing lol

I know what you mean, it has a slight uneasy feeling about it but the dog made up for it.

Poor Doggie! After these pictures surface, he can never run for public office......

Except in Italy.......Cicciolina can have him as a runing mate.

It's quite amusing that you guys think this video is real. It's actually a scene from Cloverfield 2 that was leaked on to the web. Two minutes after the pressing charges bit the freakin monster just destroys the train and the only two that survive is the psychotic woman and the older lady.
If it's fake, why did they arrest the girl? Although it is weird that only 1 news agency reported the arrest (WSB) and it conflicts with the fact that her family claims that they turned her in:

Some background sociology.

A) The crazy woman in question had (apparently) not physically attacked the old woman (just verbally) People probably were waiting to see if things went further, first.

B) Anyone on that train physically interfering with this woman probably stood as good a chance of being arrested as the woman herself, and might have needlessly escalated the incident. (Any cop will tell you that the amount of force needed to restrain a disturbed person while simultaneously protecting oneself can be.....unfortunate. And thats by people with handcuffs available!)

C) Several people in the train told the woman to stop, and eventually she was physically "warned" when she became increasingly agitated. Actually the people on the train acted with much more self-restraint against an obviously disturbed woman than many "others" apparently would have.

Conclusion: Problem (roughly) dealt with, and no "going postal" was required.

Afterward: Interestingly enough, many outraged citizens suggested reactions to this situation seem to be much more physically violent than the actual incident itself!
Never confuse restraint with cowardice

I've been in MANY situations before that involved a person of this caliber physically or verbally abusing an innocent person, only to have dozens of people simply watch and cower in fear of possibly having the attention directed towards them (and I was the only one who actually did anything about it). In this day in age, I wouldn't be surprised to see an old lady getting kicked on the ground as people stood in horror and fail to do anything about it.

In this case restraint was shown. That young guy could have simply started whaling away on the woman, and it was obvious he was tempted, but his friends brought him back from the brink of being just as bad as her in his own way.

The slippery slope to Bernard Getz is filled with righteous anger.

Though I do take your point that sometimes people must act (and I have acted in the past) Just don't confuse vigilantism for Justice.

Certainly, it IS a fine line, that's for sure. I simply expect that if violence erupts and an innocent person is being injured that someone will step in and stop it.

this is exactly why I don't use MARTA... I was on there the other day while going to a Braves game, and a fight broke out between some gay dudes and some transvestites. No joke.
Sounds to me like a good reason to DO take that train. Pack your cam and have a laugh!

lol...about people talking about the violence...if there is such a thing as a justified bitch slap...that is it.

i've never hit a girl before, but I swear if I was on that train i probably would have knocked her out.

this is exactly why I don't use MARTA... .
really, it's actually why I don't like to go to Atlanta well....not really....but sort of. I've run into this crap more than once when i've visited Atlanta. on the bright side, Atlanta does actually have gorgeous, well behaved women.

Though I do take your point that sometimes people must act (and I have acted in the past) Just don't confuse vigilantism for Justice. yeah, well justice in this case would have been a bitch slap.

*Bleah*

The only thing more disgusting than this girls behavior will be the reams of inevitably racist comments that will pile up about it on Youtube in numbers more commonly seen when counting the dead at a Zerg-fest. [thumbdown]

Honestly If someone had walked upto her and blown her f*cking brains all over the train, I would have cheered!

What I waste of air, to hear her talking!

I find how she has to scream "I'm pressin' chaagez!!" over and over thirteen times, more priceless.

Actually, watching the whole "HOOLLLDDDDD UPPP!!!!" and beyond is just classic. [rofl][rofl]

Im pretty sure I would now be on probation with some court-ordered anger management classes had I witnessed something like that.
