Default Wow, got my internet upgraded to 16k - for free!
Yesterday I still had a slow ass 6k line, this morning I wanted to dowload a demo and noticed a 1MB/s download rate. I was like WTF!? Checked it with speedtest and bam, there is was! I immediately called the provider to check whether they made a mistake and would charge me more but, all Alice 6k customers get their bandwidth upgraded to 16k for free if available in the area!

Yay for me! [thumbup]

Edit: But is such a slow upload rate normal? I already had 85KB/s with the 6k line, now its only about 125KB/s. Oh well, I'm not complaining. Thats all for 29€ per month including a telephone flatrate.

Damn, that's insane! Hope it will last you long happiness..I really love my 100mbit internet, my top speed was about 12 MB/s with FEAR Mandate Demo from Laptop to my PC through LAN (400mbit but still, dont think it can go higher due to other stuff) and about 8 MB/s with a friend on Skype..

I wonder how internet will be in like 100 years, it may so fast we dont even have one because everyone is online 24/7 with superresponsive **** so its like using your own setup..
[thumbup]

About upload, mostly often the same 1:1 or 1:8, i dont know why..(i got 100/10)

meh, i've been on 6mbit for 3 years, still at €50/month.
The whole country is on 20mbit already for the same price or less....[thumbdown][thumbdown][thumbdown][thumbdown]

pfft, I pay $100 a month for 8mb download 384kb upload with 10GB day time quota and 10GB night time quota. Once I run out of quota I'm capped to 64kb download.

You know how fricken easy it is to download 10GB in a month? I do it in like 4 days, than I'm stuck on dialup speeds for the rest of the month.

Really can't wait till Australia gets cheaper broadband, we are getting totally ripped off here.

Some people sure are lucky - i'm still stuck on a crappy 1.2Mbit connection.

Can't do much about it though - I live too far from the exchange in my town. [thumbdown]

I've got a 2.5Mb connection on a 6km rural line. 2.5Mb on that line length is almost unheard of!

Australia isn't the greatest & the whole capping limit can be a pain (hopefully the pressure is relieved a little when the new link by PN's is finished), but seriously there is alot better deals out there then what you are on - have a look at some other plans!! I haven't been keeping up with it but someone like iinet who aren't the cheapest still have much better deals. http://www.iinet.net.au/products/naked/plans.html

The ADSL 2+ speeds aren't to bad either depending on how far from the exchange you are.

Having said that there is still a lot of room for improvement.
