Default HD-DVD Vs. Blu-Ray Porn Factor?
So what do you think did the Porn industry throw their hat in one ring or the other? And did that have a big effect on who won?

Dispite the rumors, porn is/was on both formats. It didn't have any major impact; the biggest impact I'd say was PS3.

Blu-Ray was porn-free zone for a while but then they changed.

Porn was not a determining factor in this war like it was in the early 80's when they didn't have the internet.

Do people buy Porn on DVDs/HD Media?

I was under the impression that most people are downloading the stuff now rather than buying physical media.

In terms of what won the war - the PS3 most likely.
The added bonus that the PS3 is an extremely slick and competent media device.

If only the porn industry had a low cost medium to rapidly distribute their content while providing almost total anonymity to the consumer. If only...

Which brings into question, why didn't Microsoft/Toshiba collaborate and get a HD-DVD inbuilt into the 360 as standard? That would have most certainly made things a bit more even.

A few reasons. They rushed the 360 into market, a HDDVD drive would have added cost, HD-DVD drives weren't ready when they launched it.

Downloadable content will win.

I really hope not. The difference in quality between downloadable content and HD DVD/Blu-ray is the difference between a 128k MP3 and a CD. Far too many people are OK with that.

For the rental market, I can see this being the case. But not for people that actually want to own movies.

I heard porn industry hates new formats because you see everything in details...including bruises, razer cuts, and other skin imperfections (trying to keep it clean here).
