Default online car insurance
do you feel a little Dubious abooot it ?

do you omit certain details in order to get the cheapest quote etc ?

and if you do aren't you worried that if you have a smack you wont be covered.

of course thats if you have omissions

I've only ever bought car insurance online, it's the easiest way. I never lie about anything important, but I DO save £500 a year by saying I still live at my parents address

I claimed last year when a woman hit my car, no problems, they were none the wiser.

I just recently bought a new car and my old insurance company (Allstate) wanted to hit me over the head with crazy premiums. So I went to E-Surance and got a quote for like 1/2 the price. I went from 1252$ every 6 months to like 644$ every 6 months. Even have the exact same coverage as my old policy. They made it really easy to get signed up to.

Not so much omissions but like everyone I always say my car is stored in a garage. And putting my mum on my insurance always brings the quote down by about £100.

i think you need to be honest about the car, but you can maybe get away with a lie like saying you keep it in a garage for example. then again if its knicked of yer driveway you might be screwed.

Possibly, but they ask where it's usually kept.

£500 saving after telling them you live at your parents address... [surrender] I don't know, but how would insurance companies know that you actually live at a different address (i'm guessing if something actually happened to the car, you could say it was your mates house or something) as opposed to your parents one?

That said, I still need to start building a no claims. Endsleigh looks tempting with the quote just a tad over £1000, but it'll be £850 when I've had a full license for two years in May.

I have a problem with insurence.

most insurence companies do not insure cars that are on the "air side" of an Air field so when Im on camp my car technically isnt insured, plus my work place is my home address.

lol

I personally dont trust online insurance companies, I want to be able see these buggers face to face should I have any problems which is why I use our local insurance broker.
Im sure I could get much cheaper online, but cheaper usually means not as good

An example for my new car - Audi A4 Avant 1.9TDi Quattro SE 6, loaded with Audi factory extra's such as DVD Sat Nav plus, tv, 6-disk auto-changer, colour drivers computer etc and my premium for the year is £600 fully comp with protected no claims. That to me seems a good price, but I am 35 and never had an accident so it should be cheap

oh and no I never hide any details from them nor do I "twist the truth", they will try anything to find a reason not to pay out. To anybody thinking of putting yourselves at still at your parents house.......... are you on the electoral role and if so, at which address? I bet thats the first place most insurers will look for permanent residency, be careful or you could find yourselves not getting paid out
