Flaming retarded idiots!
With all that traffic around, they're taking chances with innocent people.

That said, they both sound blinking sweet - nothing like a big turbo' - or two - spooling up!
Anyone else thinking the Lambo' driver seemed like a rich slob?

Is that sarcasm? There was like hardly no traffic on the road. Unlike today when I went driving i got caught in a small traffic jam which was several hundred meters in length. Half way through some women on the radio says "slow moving traffic near the John Hunter Hospital area, try to avoid it if possible". Could of said that before I went into it[cursing].

That's still no excuse IMO. The road wasn't exactly the widest and they had two very fast cars on both lanes side by side (at some moments there were only two lanes).

Don't take this the wrong way, but anything can happen on the road when you least expect it no matter how much experience you have, so don't be so selfish and assume it's safe to do so. If they wanted to compare these two cars, then find a track to do it on rather than pose people's lives at risk.

I suppose I agree, which is why I don't like my mates driving my car. I had no choice when I bought it as I didn't have my license back than, and on the way home he sort of scared me a little when he hit 180kmph around a uphill corner on a wet road. I swear I started to feel the car sliding at those speeds.

He's more mature now that he has a few speeding fines, lol. Doesn't speed anymore.

Also was that lambo an automatic, i couldn't hear the the pause when your push down the clutch to change gears.

EDIT:
ehe she said it was a sexual experience..

loved these cars since I saw the first one years ago

Probably a semi-auto sequential paddle shift. I haven't watched the video again to confirm though.

I'd take a V8 sports car (preferably Holden) over that Lambo anyday. Will beat it on the tracks easy, probably not on a straight though, but wouldn't be far off. I've never liked exotic cars, but damn, that Supra owned it. Give it a better looking body kit and a better paint job and I'd forget Lambo's ever existed.
got bogan much?

the lambo would kill you on a straight, kill you round a track, kill you at anything. mid engine layout, 4wd, rad gearbox,

sure you can make a commodore go fast in a straight line, but a taxi just hasnt got the right properties

Nope!
Considering there were periods they'd've been on the high side of 250k, they'd be coming up on slower moving trafic VERY rapidly and there is the possability of foreign materials on the road, or mechanical failure, or driver error causing a collision, heck hitting a stray dog or a decent sized bird would do the job - then there is the chance of them coming up on, for example, a set of three vehicles - the front vehicle is slow moving, the middle vehicle pulls out to overtake, having checked the rearview mirrors and seen the road behind was clear for a kilometer or so. The speeding drivers didn't see the indicator and the vehicle moving out until too late as the third car was blocking their view.
There are a bunch of reasons that could cause a nasty accident.
Over the years I've come across a lot of bad crashes and dismembered bodies - if idiots want to race on the open road, then let it be when it is absolutely clear and where there are no intersections - prefereably in the very early hours of the morning.
If these wallies killed themselves, I don't care* but hurting others is a no-no.
*Well, that's not quite true, I'd be a bit upset at the cars being damaged.

Heck, coming from NSW, you know how the Police would respond as well...

Umm no. Don't you watch racing on TV when they put V8 supercars along with Lambo's, Porches etc etc. The V8 laps the Lambo several times. V8 are simply superior on the track. And whats a taxi got to do with anything?

All to well, hard to go down the street without passing a cop car or speed camera's, they are everywhere lol. Also you should see what they now do to your car if your a P plater, if your caught drag racing they crush your car and you have to pay a fine for it. I'd be f*cked if I'm gonna drag in my car.

Hahaha, I think you've missed the budget part - the V8 Supercars* are around the same price as the exotics and bear little resemblance to the production vehicle - heck, the shells are removed from the production line even before all the sheet metal is attached.

I think he was pointing out that many Holdens (and Fords) are used as taxi's. But then, so are BMWs and Mercedes in Europe...

* I suspect you're thinking of the "Nations Cup", I think it was called - many different exotics racing - there were two "Holdens" which were basically stripped out supercars with what were effectively LS7 engines. Two were actually made and Holden did wish to make more for customers bu their management killed the project. IIRC, the basic road version was either $250k or $500k - and they had a lot of deposits.
They were bloody quick but hardly what you would call a production car.

Yes, but the Lambo's where also modified and tuned in those races so they would have to buy the car first which cost as much as a V8 supercar than spend tens of thousands of dollars modifying, and tuning it to perfection yet the V8 supercar still smashes it on the circuit.

Another point I was trying to make was that a V8 has better bang for the buck. Also the Lambo chews up a lot more fuel. Either way they are both bad on fuel so even if I was decently wealthy I wouldn't consider either of them. i'm just saying if I had a choice I would pick the V8 over the Lambo anyday. Just like I would rather my car that I own over a V8, very cheap on fuel, great economy, nice performance and thats what I think is most important[thumbup]. Not to mention I got it for $1500, hehe. Bloody huge bargain, its worth about $8k

Nope, the V8 supercars really do outdo the Lambo's on the track. Unless there was a crappy driver driving the Lambo, but the V8's win practically all the time. And when I say win, I mean they beat all cars on the tracks.

The stock Holden can offer a damned good deal for the performance dollar.
However, as i said, I believe Fake is thinking of two very special cars that do, indeed, wipe the floor with the opposition - including a Viper or two, haven't watched it for a while so perhaps Fake can comment of any Corvettes? I would expect them to do darned well.
