Has anyone got the Hyundai W240D monitor. I just received mine and it's the last order OCUK get from me.
I gone to collect it from City Link and the box has a bit of damage around the handle but nothing bad except it looks old, I get it home and the interior packaging is in bits, the screen is loose in the poly bag that looks like it's been used as a snowball in a snowball fight so I know the screen is a return not a new one. Now it has a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen (red) and when the bottom of the bezel is just gently touched even to turn off the screen with the touch sensitive controls there is a nice black distortion mark just above your finger as if I just jabbed the screen itself, anyone else get this, would this be normal as it don't happen anywhere else on the screen. As it's a Christmas present I now have to drive 400 miles (200 each way) to get it replaced cos I ain't waiting for them to send me another ringer. First problem I ever had with OCUK I think, I've heard some bad stories but to send a £400 screen thats clearly not new seems a joke. |

A lot of guys seem to think 'it hasn't happened to me... I dunno what all the fuss is about'. You have to realise it WILL happen to you eventually. Just look at the sheer number of horror stories, they date back years (my 1st was in 2002 with a GF3 card!) and show no sign of letting up. There is no reason to take the chance and give these jokers your money, they are not even a cheap option any more. If you value your sanity take the sensible option and buy from a reputable company. The thought of buying and having to return an LCD with OcUK gives me shivers, hope it all turns out well for you in the end.

I've recently got the W240D-PVA from Aria. I havent had any of those problems. The only gripe I had was I paid for 0-dead pixels and it had 1, so I got my replacement today and theres no issues that you have claimed with mine and 0 dead pixles.
I just couldnt risk it, I had to have 0-dead pixel check on such a high spec monitor. When you signed for it, did you actually sign for it, or did you sign it as "Unchecked"? |

Sounds to me like they don't bother checking the panels, but instead the cost of £20 covers the cost of shipping out another lcd if the customer complains... Or is it just me? |

It could be yea. The first one they just send out hoping theres 0 dead pixels, but the extra covers additional carriage if required and then someone does pixel check (mine now has a sticker on the back saying who has checked it) of course, the ultimate error you can make is order without a check from a site with checks |

Looking at that picture from the outside, it looks like ShittyLink may have had problems while lifting it and it ripped the side and they could have dropped it. The side bits really arent sturdy enough to hold all the weight Haven't had it replaced yet, I got a nice 400 mile jaunt to stoke on trent tomorrow and I ain't going in happy. |

I just found the returns label from the last owner on the side and the screen was out of the poly bag and had no covering inside. Talking of CityLink, I had delivery due from them this week. I checked their site and it said it was delivered, I rang them they said it was delivered at suchasuch time but I didn't have it. Few days later I check my voicemails on my home phone and a building materials company on the otherside of my City has called me to notify me that CityLink had accidently given them my parcel and they'd got my number from the delivery note. How that for service? I had to go pick it up myself. |

Well after 400 miles and 9 hours driving I have the new screen, when I got to OCUK i asked for the screen to be fully tested and I want to see it working and I got the usuall "you're not allowed behind the counter" bull, the mug did say he'd fully tested it and there were no defects and no dead pixels, so I get home plug the screen in and have blue flashing lines like interferance on the screen, checked all connections and still got flashing lines, as my blood started boiling I switched the screen off and on again and so far no return of the flashing lines but I ain't holding my breath it's a good screen, and I'm not driving there again, Christmas present or not it'll be returned by courier and i'll take the refund.
As an avid fan of OCUK for years having never had any trouble I have now removed the favourite and am pretty certain I'll join the growing ranks of OCUK haters. |

Well there's a suprise, I complained about receiving B Grade goods and the cost of my petrol going to collect the new monitor and OCUK just refunded £23.50 for any trouble caused, doesn't pay for the fuel but it's a start, they could have said tough, the outcome will still be the same but at least they've shown some care and responsibility.
