Abusive and confrontational, should have put the camera down, explained the situation politely, not go on his tirade.

I don´t agree,..
There´s no need to do anything just because someone with a badge is telling you too,
especially not on your own property

Hmm - not sure, but they could have been CSO (Community Support Officers) or SC (Special Constables) - part time volunteer police; that would explain their rather "crap" attitude and knowledge.

Nevertheless, the guy with the camera was acting like a major idiot. He could have conducted himself in a much less confrontational and condescending manner, and still got his point across.

The cops came onto his property for what? To tell him to turn his camera off? Why? Why would they come over just to say turn that off, and then call it in?

If you were washing your car, and a cop comes over and says stop, are you going to stop? Why would you stop? Its the same thing. There are rights, and he wasn't braking a right, so how was he being confrontational? The cops were being more confrontational because they were trying to tell him to do something that was not their right to tell him.

Cop: "Its an offense"
Man: "what section is the offense under?"
Cop: *while grabbing for his radio* "I will fallow that up for you"

That right there clearly is stating that they have no idea and are just walking over there trying to be boss. And apparently it wasn't an offense after they walk away..

A police constable has to tolerate **** thrown at them, and they did quite well. Not perfect, mind you, but OK.

I'd just walk away and later destroyed a trash can or something when out of the reach of the camera.

Exactly.

On another note i dont think i would be too comfortable being filmed while working or otherwise without my consent, im not up on the law as mr pollard so obviously seems to be but i would like the right to have a say whether my actions no matter what im doing is recorded on film.

He's got a good attitude though, oh there's the police, i better get my camera and film them just in case they do something i wouldnt approve of. Everybody, when ever you see an authority figure get your camera's, you know just in case

Well, when you have crap like the King incident.. yeah.. people expect law enforcement to mess up. A lot of cops have a serious attitude problem. There was one kid who rigged up a dash camera and caught an officer on tape threatening to arrest him on a bunch of false charges. The only way to defend yourself against the police is to make sure you have everything on video tape. Without evidence they'll walk all over you and you can't do crap.

Maybe he should think about his comments before he jumps to conclusions.

The Nazi's may have encouraged people to "turn in" others that they thought were radicals or
were speaking out against them, But you cannot say the same about people phoning a terror hotline to shop somebody they suspect has terrorist connections, Its just not the same.

The guys a Pratt!

As for the guy with the camera in the first video, I think he was totally in his rights to film the Police, it was stated his was an Amateur film maker so having a camera "to hand" was probably something of a regular occurence for him, He was on his own property and the Police came on to his property without an invite either.

If the guy had had some large rottweiler in his garden (had it been fenced off etc), I'd doubt the Police would have entered his garden so casually, without first obtaining his permission to do so.

They both seemed like "weekend Police" and conducted themselves sloppily, Unsure of the correct Law's that this guy was supposed to be breaking, then when they knew they were in the wrong (after talking to their Sarge back in the control room) they walked off without so much as a "bye your leave", muttering quietly to themselves as they vacated the property.

Pretty bloody shoddy, and I should think that if they were honest with themselves any Full time coppers watching this video would be disgusted with the perfomance and professionalism of these part time coppers, as it clearly leaves the Proper guys who do the same job, looking like a bunch of idiots.

No they are both most definitely 'trained' police officers it says so on the back of their vests. Personally if anyone came onto my property who had no right to and tried to tell me I couldn't do something which I had every right to do I'd probably be confrontational. I actually find some of the attitudes on here condescending, the idea that you have to subjugate yourself to someone just because they are wearing a uniform even if they are technically an idiot misusing their authority. The police are servants of the state and after all paid by the public's taxes maybe they'd like to spend their time tracking down and arresting criminals rather than harassing innocent property owners.

If you were a police officer and you have someone filming you, wouldn't you be a little suspicious of them, then when you ask the guy with the camera to stop filming you, he immediately becomes very confrontational and aggressive, what are you going to do? Have to agree with Chrisinthesun 100%.

Only if I had been doing something I shouldn't have.

I certainly wouldn't lie and make up laws that don't exist. I have no problem with someone asking him to stop but it's how they acted next. As far as I am concerned the moment they unlawfully enter someone's property that person has the right to react however they feel like. I do worry for the future of this world when people consider asking why a Police Officer is acting in a certain way when it is contrary to the law is confrontational and aggressive. He simply asked them why they could come on to his property and ask him to filming which they can't. To which they replied by making up a law, which last time I checked was a power that resided with Parliament and not the Police Force. At that he understandably got pissed off. You want to come onto to my property illegally and make up laws about what I can and can't do then expect me to get pissed off.

Just because you have a badge doesn't give you the right to go around making up whatever law suits you. Policeman walks into some womans garden "Yes sorry ma'am you can't wear a black swimsuit by a PC it's and offense I'm afraid. No you see black uniform, black swimsuit [rolleyes] it confuses people and they don't know which one is the police officer. So I'm going to have to respectfully ask you to remove the swimsuit."

So you're quite happy to have someone video you for no particular reason then? Personally I would see it as suspicious if there was a person, down a lane trying to stay out of view, video taping me. There are privacy laws and harrasment laws in the UK, as to their full extent I'm not sure but I wouldn't be surprised if there was something about a person constantly making tapes of people (regardless who they are) without their consent.

Also seeing as the Police officers and the kid they were speaking to were the obvious subjects of his film would he not need their permissions to publicly distribute their likeness?

The officers could have handled the situation much better though IMO.
