Thanks because I could clearly see that's what his auction said BEFORE he posted a link to his auction.
You shouldn't jump to a conclusion that it was his fault then without seeing the evidence.

I would hate to be that one actual Nigerian guy buying a present for someone. No one would take him seriously.

its americans. lots are stupid. they probably thought "wow $32 for a phone" or something. i have had this before with a hard drive. i did ship it in the end, but it shows how dumb some bidders are.
yup I'm sure the IQ in england is higher than the US - (I love that show "little Britain") and americans are flooding to Nigeria to scam people from the UK. Because they are just that smart ... Like I have have people from the UK send me (ie) 45 pounds for things that were 45 euros via ebay (90% of the selling transactions I do over ebay require a bank imei for transfers- to avoid scams like this) - do I correct them most of the time - nope.

I don't think ebay is available to nigeria.

In any case, that happened with me and my xbox 360. Soon as I listed it some scammer bot hit the buy it now option. Then I got the email + fake paypal transacion emails. Reported it and it was take care of in a day or two. Meanwhile I relisted it with the requirement that buy it now meant you had to pay for it on the spot. That usually keeps the scammers at bay.

Default God I ****ing hate eBay
I just sold my phone on eBay for £32, two people put up quite a fight for it in the last few mintues, but it turns out the winning bidder is someone from the USA ?!?!? [cursing]

Was I meant to write POSTING TO UK ONLY?! I didn't even think a non british person would bid on this item. I only added shipping to the UK in my postage options.
I bet this ****er gives me bad feedback now, I have no idea how much it'll cost to get to the USA and I already put £6 on his invoice because I had no idea where he lived and just presumed he lived in the UK. Even the charger plug is British, why the **** did he buy this?!?!? [cursing]

Am I to understand you didn't mention somewhere UK only? If so, you only have yourself to blame.

Why do I HAVE to say that though, I thought just the places I chose to deliver to are the only places I will be sending it to, I didn't tick any international countries just the UK so it's not my fault at all. If I HAD type UK ONLY in big **** off red writing, I may as well right stuff like NO CHOCOLATE MONEY just incase someone decides to pay that way ?

link to item (if it works).

Why do I HAVE to say that though
Because the internet is available in areas other than the U.K.? Common ebay practice is to state that you don't ship international.

And yes, I DO buy things from overseas. I've bought items from U.K. and China.

Hmmm.. someone whose account has been dormant since 2001, suddenly buying a mobile phone off ebay?

Has he asked how he wants to pay, or have you had any contact with him at all? At the moment I'd say it could be a hacked account.

I've input I'm shipping to the UK and no where else, look at my item.

He hasn't got in touch at all, which is quite strange as he was battling for the item a few moments ago.

It sounds like you yanks are taking this personally, it's not an attack on all lovely Americans that you are, just this one bloke.

But, if I bid on something in the USA on the USA eBay account, and saw the seller only had the price of posting to the USA and no where international - I would ask if he/she would sell overseas and at what cost

You did set your auction to "Post to UK only" so the phone wouldn't have shown up on any US search unless the ebayer actually manually tried to find phones outside the US, which given the somewhat common nature of the Motorola V3, not to mention the price difference and shipping costs, is of a dubious nature.

That, and it seems to be a user who hasn't used their account in 6 years and suddenly decides to buy a phone, from Britain, which is set to a UK only auction.... it all has a tinge of Scamola about it to me.

Don't contact him yet, wait to see if they contact you first. My Spidey Sense suggests he'll ask for Western Union, or escrow, or give you a direct link to a 'paypal' page. Just my cynical nature though.

I will admit I wouldn't have bid on that, without atleast asking about shipping. I can see your frusteration, but you should make everything clear.

It was over a week ago, I'm pretty sure I said UK only, I know I didn't set any options to ship overseas.
I've already contacted him after realising he lived in the USA. I guess I can just wait and see what happens, but don't worry I wont be fooled to any dodgy money transfers

I think he's a dimwit for biddin on it without asking first when it clearly says you will post to "UK" and not "world wide".

Or he just made a mistake.

how can some of you be saying ginjaru has made a mistake? one of the options when selling an item is to state where you ship to and he's selected UK only. thats why at the top of the auction it says....
Post to:United Kingdom
Item location:Malvern, Worcestershire, United Kingdom id have thought if it doesnt mention the US or international shipping, then its not an option. i really dont think you also need to write this in the item description or anything. no one should need to.
