i mainly listen to compilations... therefore itunes works best(or similar) just look for the name in there and of you go. what i still hate are duplicate songs especially with two or three compilations from the same time (for example house compilations from spring 2007)

Why do people manually sort their music? Play list and or let the player organise things with the tags, editing only as needed (sometimes I'll edit artist when it a co-op to match the album artist).

I have all mine tagged and named like:

Artist - Title

then all in one big music folder .

I have some soundtracks that I keep all together in their own folder, but for the most part its just lots of file in one folder. I think I'll make a project of it and organize them better some day.

\\Genre\Artist\Album\## - Track Title.xxx

I find its much easier to have it sorted that way, so when I want to find something I know where it is.

Compliations go in their own Compilation directory. \\Genre\Compilations\disc name

I start with my Pink Floyd on one side of the bookcase, and I work my way to the right across each shelf, usually adding content as it flows with the genre.
