If you are mainly going to be watching movies/TV on the thing (especially SD), then Plasma is the best. If you are going to be doing a lot of gaming, then LCD would be better.

But if you have your heart set on LCD, Sony are probably the best, followed closely by Samsung.

LG are getting towards the forfront of the technology

all of the latest models 32" and above support pixel mapping and you can pick up an excellent full HD one for under 800 quid (37")

Currys - Toshiba Regza 37" 1080p - £799.99

I think this is last years model, and the reason it's so cheap is that a new one will be released soon.

I've got one to accompany my 70" Sony DLP... believe me, considering the billy no makea, it's a cracker!
Forget about 1080 etc on anything under 37" as well as you'll notice jack **** difference... and even then don't assume more pixels = better picture. I can show youa 42" Pioneer at £1700 RRP that's just been release with 720P that will blow most sets including 1080p out of their socks.

If you want a solid poerforming and neat TV, this one is for you [thumbup]

Depends what it's to be used for - newer Panasonics (LCD) are supposed to handle standard def TV better than most, Plasma does a really good job of it too and you get a fair chunk of screen for the cash.
