Not sure how good Gateway are but considering how awful Acer are, this is bad news.

The Acer AL1951CS is one of the best TN LCDs ive seen to date...they make a lot of good products.

Another acer user here, been using the Ferrari 3000 for more then 3 years now and still no problem [yes] while my brother mates bought his dell latitude like a year ago and it already cause him problems. The most recent problem i heard was hdd failure

seriously i see no real reason to bash acer, i've never seen them having real bad quality stuff for the last 3-4 years. including their handheld computers and laptops (dont know much about their desktop systems). also from what i hear here, ppl are pretty pleased with their lcd's. especially when it comes to price/performance they have pretty competative products.
