Default Can Anyone Who Knows A Bit About Buying Stocks Lend Me A Hand.
I've been wanting to dabble in the stock market for some time, so I've decided to take a plunge and invest a small amount of savings. I signed up for an e-trade account, and want to invest about $300 in 5 shares of Nintendo (NTDOY) stock. The problem is, when I go to buy the shares in the market price type, it gives me the following error:

Non-equity, bulletin board, OTC, pink sheet and other specific securities are not eligible for the price type you have specified.

I can use the limit, stop etc. price types, but I honestly just wanted to buy stock from it's market value. Is this because it is an overseas stocks?

Either your account or Etrade in general might not support OTC trading. I don't know much about nintendo stock, but it looks to be available as an ADR, so if you really want to buy, give etrade a call and see what's up.
