Default The New 2008 Honda Accord
Anyone seen the new 2008 Honda Accord.
268HP V6 3.6L Its going to have a cylinder shut off system that can disable 2 or 3 cylinders depending on the load conditions. Pretty cool that they are doing this for a V6. The Avenger was supposed to get something like this, but Chrysler said that it effected performance too much. Not like they are fast cars anyways. [thumbdown]

It looks weird.
Looks like a bad combination of the Hyundai Sonata, Tiburon, Scion tC and a hint of the Mitsubishi Eclipse .
I like the new Altima much much better.
Though its nice to see these larger family cars being able to get up and go with their high powered V6s for the same price as the compact turbocharged cars in the $24,000 bracket.

I like the looks, I'd even go so far that it's better looking than an Audi A4 or BMW 3

i like it and i liked the old ones too. i'd like to see a type-r again. i think a 2.2 cdti is more likely to be the popular one in the UK tho.

Hmm, eagerly opened this thread, but I'm a bit dissappointed with the looks. It's slightly bland looking, and I don't like the grill at all..bit of an odd and pointy shape. I do like the lights though, nice and aggressive looking.

Anyways, Honda's are all about the engines anyway, and this one looks like it'll be interesting. Can't wait to hear it's vtec roar!

you have to see more than just that picture of the car to get a feel for things, the car has a very ungainly set of proportions irl, like the shapes don't quite fit together properly, it's at least a little less boring than the old one though.

I'm not liking the design at all... but my tastes tend to lean to the German manufacturers.
I like the looks, I'd even go so far that it's better looking than an Audi A4 or BMW 3. How can one even compare an economical Japanese car to two luxury German cars? Compare it to other cars in it's actual class. Both the Audi A4 and BMW 3 series out pace the Honda Accord from every standard.

Regardless, I'm sure the new Honda Accord will be regarded highly like in the past when compared to other vehicles in it's price range. Then again, you never know...

Car class doesn't matter when comparing looks, only performance. At least IMO.

If I think a Ford Mustang looks better than a BMW M5, so be it. Doesn't matter that the M5 is the better car in every aspect. Aesthetics are subjective, performance is fact.

Anyway, I think the the new Accord looks ok. It'll probably look better in motion and in person.

compared to the old accord it's like a blazing fireball of activity! The only decent thing the old accord had going for it were the headlights, and they're just about like every other midsize sedan nowadays anyway...

1998 through 2002 is the best looking Accord. The 6th generation.

We have the no vtec 135hp 2.3L and that thing still can haul some a$$.
Best looking accord, and the only one that I would like to own by FAR.

I'm going to do my TopGear bit now.

It doesn't matter how good the car looks, at the end of the day when someone asks you what you drive, you have to say "honda accord". [yawn]

So... they judge people based on the car they drive? That's a bit lame.

Hell, Cadillac came out with this almost 30 years ago.

Of course they explain the problems they had, but it's hardly new technology.
