Waiting for delivery of my TiVX HDD media player - apparently its being delivered by TNT post (the parcel bit of the Dutch postal service).

Delivery is to my work address. It should have been delivered yesterday. 08:45 - 17:45 nothing. We all went home from work at about 17:45. I got back in this morning to find a delivery note on the doorstep. They obviously tried to deliver after 18:00 yesterday, when the office was closed.

Best part is, on the delivery note they say they will deliver today, but cannot say what time [rolleyes] (could be any time up to 21:30 this evening).

And to crown it all off - I called them this morning to be told the post office it will come from is about 5 doors down from me. Had I known that, I would have told them not to put it on the van today, and I would have just picked it up!

If they can not deliver today, because office is closed, they will leave the parcel at the TPG office where you can pick it up.

And the time they offer the parcel, depends on the route of the mailman. It stands lose from the fact you are this nearby.

That much I know. Thing is, my office is not closed today, but I bet they will try and deliver again after 17:30 - even though it says clearly on our door what the opening times are!

Next time, you can order something 'poste restante' or something like that, as in it's in the post office for you to pick up when it's most convinient for you. Incase of living 5 doors from a post office, I would choose this option instead of having to rely on delivery routes ect which are always a b1atch.

Wouldn't work in all situations, but it's a handy feature non the less ( hehe lol calling something handy while infact you're having a delivery service turned into a collecting service eg you get less but pay the same
