Default Slow mo hi FPS compilation
Always nice to view, some on the other hand are quite boring... but that's a matter of taste I guess.

That looked massive for a round, more akin to a rocket!

Tank shell. Rocket implies fuel/self propulsion.

I was thinking the same thing but it seemd really thick and it didn't have the stuff that held the round fall off like in most cases.

That's no sabot. I think it was an AT missile fired from the barrel.

correct, the sabot usually dismantels shortly after leaving the barrel

If it is indeed a missile there aren't many choices left. The barrel looked too small to be the 155mm used on the M551 Sheridian, so my guess is it could be either the 100mm used on the BMP 3 or the 125mm used on the T64 and T80 with the BMP3 being the most likely choice.

Correct, and (maybe not all) guidance to alter course, but read my last answer on the bottom of this post what I think it may be.

I believe it is a test shell that may be a rocket fired from a tank, as tank shells these days travel miles to hit target, if in some way, a tank can fire a guided shell or "rocket" this would best fit the video shot of one.

And I believe, just after the tip (nose) of the projectile, something explodes off from it. Would this make the shell/rocket go live, as it is ready for detonation on impact ?

Not to mention that you probably couldn't get such nice video tracking on a cannon round.

Well the sabot is something first used in british tanks, it helped the smaller barrel guns outrange the larger guns. I agree the shell could be going live as it travels. There is no obvious means of guidance on the shell, it looks like a standard shell with a tail (with the whole thing spinning) to help stabalise the flight.
