Inflatable sheep and a toy orangutan had to replace children as the jockeys in an annual donkey derby after insurers refused to cover the event.
The race has been held in Llandudno every summer for 39 years with parents previously signing disclaimer forms.

But organisers Llandudno Rugby Club were advised this could not continue and when no insurance could be found they were forced to resort to "Plan B".

The donkey derby, which began as a event in itself, has since grown into a fun day attracting up to 5,000 people at Bodafon Fields, with a fair and show jumping.

It had had resulted in "hardly any accidents" other than minor bumps in its 39 years, said Mr Holden. One sheep deflated spontaneously so had to be substituted by an orangutan...he was a last minute replacement jockey but performed admirably Naturally there is a photo as well:

Well it is Wales.

A Welsh workmate of mine used to have a sticker in the back of his car, which had a cartoon picture of a sheep,
and the words "I really really like sheep" under it.

He used this car to visit clients at work. He got some very funny looks.

Another case of Political correctness gone Mad!
What is the world coming to.

Llandudno is only about 30 miles or so, just up the road from me.

Guess I should tell you my best sheep joke, seeing how someone started on about us Welsh.

Whats the best way to sh*g a sheep?

On the edge of a cliff,

Cos they Push back!

It's not though is it? It's a health and safety issue. No one is saying you can't do this because they believe it's offensive, they are saying it because they believe it's dangerous. In fact it is actually a private company making a commercial decision so it's not even political at all. Now if they had said you can't race inflatable sheep because it might upset the Welsh that would be political correctness.

People misidentifying Political Correctness. What is the world coming to?
