There are a lot of good things built by german engineers!! But it's not only the german engineers who are good, but I think we are some of the best on earth!! (Yeah, I'm a german engineer, too!! :-P)
I always love to see, when some engineers (no matter where they come from) build some crazy things (like a "water bridge"), that no one ever thought of before!! Anyone got more like these please?? :-) |

They worry more about polution then the economical boost it can give, it's the same with Schiphol itself. It's more important for those 1.500 houses which have some issues with planes flying fairly low level, so they limit the number of flights which can use a certain runway during certain weather conditions. Idk, I always felt those people are less important then the thousands of jobs it would create if you removed the limit. I love german machines, well engineerd, although I know one company who's ego have burst.. But someone else took in , on my feelings as I work with one, Koenig&bauer. The also made the first printing roation pers, newspaper print that is. One last edit, Japanese are excellent with elektronics.. and Siemens is highly sensitive to errors. |

newcastle bridge is kinda cool to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pN445dM-L9M it doesnt life boats but just how far it goes up into the air and it costs less than a mcdonalds meal to open lol
The construction of the bridge won the architects Wilkinson Eyre the 2002 Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Stirling Prize. In so doing they became the first, and so far the only, firm of architects to retain British architecture's most prestigious prize - after winning the prize in 2001 for the Magna Science Adventure Centre. In 2005, the bridge received the Outstanding Structure Award from IABSE (International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering). |
