Default Quick ebay question (UK)...
I'm currently in the process of selling my 8800GTS 320MB card here. So far, so good, but a couple of buyers have sent me questions (about whether the card works) in regards to what i've written in the item description: No refunds will be given if item is found faulty.

Now to be perfectly honest, I feel a little stupid for putting this in. The card works perfectly fine and has done since I bought it, but because I can't edit this description, should I change my policy on returns to accept them for the buyer's piece of mind? I've got a perfect box to fit the item in (fits very snugly and secure with two layers of bubblewrap around it), so what chances are involved of the card getting damaged in transit?

I still have the original A4 reciept from OcUK which was in the box along with the card and the warranty on the card hasn't yet been registered.

Oh BTW, anyone willing to bid up the price is more than welcome. [yes]

Just put what you said here about the warranty as answer to the question and let it appear on the auction page!!

You should be able to revise your returns policy.

To be honest with you - I really wouldn't add a returns policy unless you really want the potential hassle.
If people want the item then they will buy it regardless of the returns warranty, as long as you're honest in your description etc.

I agree with sofia -

I've had such a horrible time with vendors accepting rma's in the past that - if they damage the card after receiving it - you are supporting OCuK's policies - and if they don't accept an rma - the buyer will hold you responsible - if they don't do so to begin with. So I would just leave it as-is - if anything, just reitterate the fact the item is in perfect working order - refrencing the reciept more as a date-of-purchase - to support minimal useage. than warrenty support. Good job keeping the recipt BTW, Of all the parts I have scattered around - I'd have a bugger of a time digging up the paperwork to them ...

You should be able to edit the main text as there has been no bids, putting "no returns if found faulty" will probably get you about half of what you should for the card.

If it was me, I would just say "great working order" and leave it at that, I've bought and sold over 1000 items on Ebay and only had 3 problems in the past, just make sure it goes Royal Mail Special Delivery, that covers up to £500 iirc, and take photo's of every stage of packing just incase, also mark the card somewhere only you could find incase someone tries the old switcheroo!

Edit : Oh yeh, RMSD up to 2kg is £7.75 so you should change the postage cost.

I really appreciate the suggestions guys, but i've actually decided to change my mind of all things and stop the auction. My original plan was to buy a console, but I don't really have the money that will allow. Plus, I think having a Nintendo Wii and a PC is good enough for me at the moment.

I will take these things into consideration for next time when it comes to selling a graphics card again.
