What the hell? So yesterday I saw 4, yes 4 mail trucks and go to about EVERY HOUSE in my neighborhood and they were out for about 3 hours and finally one of them came to deliver my normal mail.. so I ask them whats up and the guy replies "F***king harry potter books." I say damn thats alot of books lol he said you have no idea and theirs about 3 times the extra trucks today just because of this stupid book

so why is it so great? this got me intrigued.

Well, I think the big hype is that this huge thing is finally coming to an end, and everybody wants to be the first to find out how it happens, hence why all the trucks are out delivering as you wrote. As for the series itself, I've always explained its popularity based on the fact that it gives kids a little bit of hope, hope that even if they're underprivileged, mistreated, or disenfranchised that there may a time and a place for them to do great things and to be important to others in the world. That's what Harry sa a character is, and that's an appealing proposition. Otherwise, it's just a fun series, and I can't think of anyone who'd want to miss number seven after wading through thousands of pages in books one through six.

Well, you know how what women like changes every couple years (and when it changes in 1 place, that effect becomes global) Well, the current fangirl thang is nerdy looking, magic-wielding prepubescent Elijah Wood-looking punk-ass pale white broom riders.

And Harry....well, he's their poster boy.

Give it another 2-3 years, and the ladies will be after something else... they're so fickle.

Perfectly said. I'm glad I'm not a teenager these days, so that I dont have to put up with this ****. Really cant understand all the fuss about Harry Potter.

Then again I dont care about Lord of the Rings or World of Warcraft and stuff like that either, so maybe I have just missed that fantasy wave.

Is it just me or on the front cover, doesn't it look like Hermione is getting raped by an invisible man on an invisible bed ?

or is it just me ?

Raped by an invisible man? No, that's all the gold 'n' treasue being magically heated, burning the three of 'em in the process. They're breaking into a Gringotts vault, that's what the cover depicts.

hehe, that chapter was a bit weak, IMO, but overall I thought it was a pretty decent book. Invisible man though... hehe seeing that image up close really does remind me of a scene in the Kevin Bacon movie Hollow Man where he rapes a woman...

Well I for one read it and thought it was great. As for all this "girl...teenage...inmature" crap and then going on to say how it looks like Hermione is being raped just goes to show you where the real immaturity is at. Seriously, if a person wants to read Harry Potter, fine....but to make fun of them for it? All this bigotry makes me sick. If you want to say I don't like Harry Potter because I read it and I dont like 1,2, and 3 then fine, that is your opinion. But to go on and say I don't like Harry Potter because they're for girls, ect, ect and then don't even read it? Grow up people.

I just find it funny when people actually camped for a book, many of them don't even know wtf the story is and simply buy it cheer it because it is a fad, my brother was one of them
