Wow. So umm, why the **** is everybody getting so offended that this guy bought an iPhone? If he likes it, great. If you don't like it, great. If you're gay, well, what ever floats your boat. But seriously, this always happens with Apple products here. It comes out, everybody makes fun of it, then a couple of months later, everybody has one, not becuase it's cool, but because it's a good product. Would I buy one? No, it's too big for me to haul around in my pocket; that's why I have a razor. Do I like Apple products? I'm typing this on a iBook. Anyways, flame on.

I can't wait for touchscreen iPods to come out though, with a nice fatty hdd that can actually hold all my movies, music, and shows.

I heard it's only GSM and not 3G. Which makes this phone 100% useless for anything internet related. I don't count wireless because wireless access is hardly something easy to come by. I want to use the phone on the net wherever I am using the mobile network. [thumbdown]

no, actually, it's a pretty good business move. Obviously, people are buying them in droves anyways, and in the process, Apple keeps it's cost down. Now, of course they are already working on the next revision that has the newer feature (i forget what it's called) and people will wait again in line when those come out. It's a brilliant but somewhat customer unfreindly business move. MS did a similar thing with the x360 imo. Got it to market, people buy in, then improve it, and people still buy in.

I don't call it a smart business move. I don't know what the deal is in the US, but many 3G handsets can be found here and it doesn't cost much. The phone seems to have great internet functionality, but what good is it if you can't use the internet?!

Overall there are handsets out there that can do similar functions and also do them well because they are 3G for a similar price to the iphone.

iphone wont retail in Australia till next year... if we only get the GSM model, then I'm not sure how it's going to compete here.

the iPhone is a really cool integration of features, looks damn sweet, and thank god it has a killer battery life (a miracle for an iProduct!)

No removable storage, no swappable battery, forced data plans, no real buttons at all, no stylus, EDGE only...well there is a whole list of things that make it less appealing. It has the sex appeal, and slick operation no doubt.

Still I would rather have the sucessor to my phone (I have a samsung i730) the Samsung i760 (not out). Swappable batteries, memory, real buttons, stylus games.

Well maybe a gen 2 iPhone...but probably a windows mobile phone that takes the good (rips it off) but allows me the customization and user power I want.

agree, kinda agree, straight up wrong. BMW = crisp, clean, powerful, amazingly well designed machines. VW's and audi's (more so VW's though) = yuppie hippie wanna save the planet all rolled into one bombshell of an annoyance.
