Says the Jr. yuppie in training with his VW. [rofl]

Aren't gross generalizations great? /sarcasm
I drive an old, stock Honda. I drink Tim Hortons coffee. I don't even own an MP3 player, and I use PCs.

The town I live in is full of yuppies. You find them all the time... at Starbucks "studying" with their Macbook, with their beemer parked visibly in front of the windows just outside.

So I have been using my iPhone for about an hour and man do I love it! In fact, I'm posting from it right now. Leeching off a Red Lion hotel hotspot while my family finishes up dinner! I'll be sure to post a first impressions and a review a little later. [thumbup]
ok, so seriously now, like how often do you whip it out non-chalant like (as if you don't want anyone to notice) in a crowd of people? never? [no] any chance you get? [yes]

seriously though, imo, it seems like a great product. I wouldn;t mind having one, but for the price...not sure i want to go there. I think it's pretty compelling though. I don't have a fullsize ipod, or a smartphone, so I may be tempted to have a do everything device like the iphone. Regardless, i probably won't go there for at least 6 months and untill future versions.

It is interesting to see that you keep pretty close tabs on these people what they own, drive, coffee preference, etc.

No but I do agree that stereotypes exist for a reason. For the record, I hate Starbucks.

If you wanted to blow some money, why didn't you just get a PS3 or something?

You consider the iPhone an actual phone? Toy more like it. Something that *******s get to show off to people (like the razor) and think they're oh so cool when they talk on it 24/7. I mean, why the Hell do you need everything but the kitchen sink in a ****ing cell phone? Not to mention once that one thing breaks (and it will) you lose everything.

Some people want/require more functionality out of their phone. I remember when the Razr first came out and it was $500, which I do find ridiculous. For its current $50 price tag it is a nice slimline cell but lacks a huge amount of functionality the iPhone does. But who are we to say what people should or shouldn't buy with their money? What if he bought the iPhone because he actually really liked it rather than it being a status symbol? [shocked]

Why would he lose everything when it breaks? Just like any other smartphone/PDA all numbers/contacts, as well as calender information is synced to the computer.

Why do you need everything but the kitchen sink? Because its cool. Also, why should you care about it breaking? If you don't spend the money, it isn't your problem, is it?

On another note, I'd joyously take an iPhone in a heartbeat if someone gave it to me and paid for service. Otherwise, I'll be sticking to my Moto flip phone and (cheaper) Verizon service.

I tend to agree with Creyato... I think cell phones are only useful for making phone calls/text messaging. Period.

If I want to organize stuff, I'll use my head or a piece of paper. If I want music, I'll use a full mp3 player or a good old fashioned CD.

The ONLY things I use my cell phone for are making calls and txts. With that said, I still think the iPhone is freaking cool.

It's an all-in-one device... I highly doubt he's going spend that much money just to still keep a separate MP3 player and PDA. Therefore, when the device dies, he won't lose one thing, he will lose everything.

OK right, I mean that is common sense.

That is where warranty comes in.

Hell, I don't even go that far. I use my cell phone for nothing but calls. My current plan has all those extra features disabled. No texting or data communication.

I just don't need any of that. Hell, my plan for all 3 phones on the service is 500 minutes a month. Currently we are sitting on about 4800 rollover minutes and we were just told about 300 minutes will be expiring soon.

Some people may want all those features. (notice I said want, not need). But I could never see myself ever buying an iphone.

My phone should be able to make and answer phone calls, nothing else. iPhone is the perfect thingy for those already invested in the Apple brand, but I couldn't ever see myself spending so damn much for a phone.

you work at starbucks now? if there's any justice in this world, you will encounter fanatic customers who get really riled up when they don't get thier mocha grande's exactly as they want them

(if i remember right, you're the dude, who likes to rant about negative starbucks experiences.) well, at least you've put your money where you mouth is, in reality, you are probably one of their best employees (since you genuinely like the product, and prepared right)

p.s. I also dig starbucks.

The thing is these people make every effort to be noticed, so I can't help but notice them. It doesn't help that I'm in a college town, at a college known for its "snooty" people. I'm surrounded by them.
