Default Receipt Winnings?
On receipts from most major retailers, they always have a thing on there that says something a long the lines.

"Take our survey with this code and you could have a chance of winning $1,000"

Now, is this a way to try to get people to just take these surveys or do people actually win this money? Are these things for real or not? I have never heard of anyone winning money this way, and I am taking it that the chances are just as slim as winning the lottery.

When I used to work in a supermarket there was a lady who came in every week and bought massive quantities of all the stock that had promotions running for it. One time pepsi had a promotion going where you send in the code from inside the bottle and you can win prizes. 1 day I asked the lady if she'd ever won anything and she told me that out of 600 bottles of pepsi she'd bought in the last 2 weeks she'd won $30,000, 2 ipods and a holiday.

So yes you can win on stuff like that, but the chances are stupidly slim so dont bother.

Only if millions and millions of people enter, which they don't.

What do you mean are they real? Of course they are. Do you think that they can just write something blatantly false on the receipts? False solicitation is illegal.

If you read the fine print, after the contest is over you can mail them for information about the contest winners.
