My homemade helicopter is finished. I just have to make a cnanopy for it now.
The gyro I'm using now is very bad so I only fly carefully around and don't want to push it by doing any stunts until I get a good gyro. here's a video from today: http://www.enrarot.net/videos/eco16/eco1603.wmv The finished model: ![]() My E-penis where I design helicopter parts: ![]() A screenshot from Plasma showing outlines for a canopy, I havent' started building it in 3D yet, just planning. It's going to be badass: ![]() It has a rotor diameter of 112 cm now but it was made for 550 mm blades which mean a 122 cm rotor diameter. The motor is very strong and can do 1500 W and probably peak over 2000 W, but I probably won't hit more than 1000-1100 W. It weighs 1900 g with batteries and everything which is very light for a 30-size helicopter. When I get the gyro I'll be able to make a proper video. |

And here's a video from yesterday with my other helicopter, the one I'm confident with.
![]() http://www.enrarot.net/videos/eco8/eco13.wmv And one I made sunday evening with an on-board camera. It has music because there's just a constant gear and motor whine: http://www.enrarot.net/videos/eco8/obeco16.wmv |

This is northern Norway. It's nice here when the weather is good.
I didn't save much money by making it myself because the electronics are the expensive bits. It's very rewarding though. My design can be bought from this guy soon: http://members.shaw.ca/rdheli/ I got a new gyro today but am still a little apprehensive about doing anything crazy. the new gyro is fantastic though. This video is a little more spirited than the previous one though. It kind of looks like a shark when you see it from above/below. http://www.enrarot.net/videos/eco16/eco1604.wmv |
