Don't like Audis. They've always been wannabe BMWs and tried to grab'em market share (in which they never succeed). They used to turbocharge their engines to reach the same HP as their rivals. In addition to that, they are nosey (understeering) and have a relatively poor chassis (don't blame their techies there, they'd love to make it better, but Audi marketing wouldn't allow it it seems, with the fear of losing their current client base).

Considering I own and drive on a daily basis a 2003 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro, I do agree the vehicle does have understeering due to it being nose heavy and AWD but installing an RS4 rear sway bar (approximately $120.00) helps immensely. My father has owned in his lifetime (thus far) several BMW's and Mercedes-Benz's and he has been the most impressed with the Audi line as of recently due to the overall quality and performance. Do a comparison between the Audi and any other German make (or any other comparable model) in rain or snow and I guarantee you will walk away thinking differently. I personally prefer driving a vehicle that has the performance and design that accommodates for all driving conditions and is a balance between luxury (MB) and sport (BMW). |
