Default Connection slow need help
Hi all i recently moved house and joined sky broadband with the wireless router,i bought a asus netwrok card and i was connected today, thing is router says the connection down the line is 8mb and 768upload,thats what the router says when i login into the router and do a speed test however, when i download of the net im only downloading at 1.9mb,signal strengh has 5 bars which is exellent and the speed at the moment it says 36mbps,thats on the status of the connection settings, now im wondering how can i speed it up? i dont want to use the network cable as i dont want any cables across the room,im about 300 meters from the router, when i first rang sky they even told me that they did i dsl test down the line and it was 8MB.

maybe the server you're downloading from is not fast enough.
If a speedtest gives you good results it has nothing to do with your internet.
Try downloading something from www.ati.com, they usually give you nice dlspeeds
