Default Drawing maps?
Hi Guys....

I was hoping somebody could help me with this.

I have written a book which is being published, however the map which goes with the story is becoming a problem. I had originally hand drawn the map but since cannot get a decent scan into my computer without it looking grainy or not picking up the detail. I have tried to draw one on my pc but it still looks rubbish!

Does anyone know of any basic map drawing programs which would be free to use? I only want a basic map with roads and trees and some text etc...

Thank you for any help given!

I'm pretty sure any vector drawing program would cut it, like Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator...

I'm sure if you posted a scan of the map someone here would photoshop it for you to remove the unwanted artifacts.

Yup, I would take a crack at it if you did post up a scan.

You could post the scanned map, and somebody (hell, I'd take a crack at it) could trace it in a vector program, and then somebody with good skills and/or actions could PS it to make it look like whatever you'd want it to be.

So, is it a Tolkien-ish style map, or is it something more modern?

If you change the darkness, you should be able to get the rest to show up
If you scanner cant do that go to officemax or a copy place with the fancy copiers and mess with it there. (make a dark scan there and do a normal scan onto your computer.

Or just go over the lines in a dark pen and scan again.
