This still from the video coverage would suggest that his watch was indeed half-inched [rofl] - and he did not "take it off and put it in his pocket", as Whitehouse aides have suggested:

He put it in his pocket from what i can tell

look at the video that is at top of this page (not sure if it is exactly same as one in other thread, but i used one above to time it)

the scene the pic was take from above is between 13-14 sec (it is a pain to get it to stop right, but with effort you will see)

that guy does have his hand completely covering the watch, but he doesnt take it as the pic suggests...at sec 15 you see his arm with the watch on (video above highlights it) he then brings his han down by his side (supposedly that is when he puts it in his pocket) and then six seconds later at 21 you see him reach out his arm without the watch.

While it is possible it was somehow taken from 00:16 - 00:21secs... only his body guards are touching him.... so it coulda fallen off or either he put it in poket or guards saw it falling off and took it imo

so as the mythbusters would say... this ones busted!

Looks like he definately took it off himself, does look a lot like it's stolen in the original though.
