actually i dont think its that bad... f1 still suffers from the "incident" a few years ago when all michelin teams didnt race.
LoL, did you just see that wide angle shot? The stands are practically empty. "Not that bad".... lol.

some of the stands are right where the infield begins since they are not racing the oval i guess they are not on sale...

going to an f1 race is not that interesting anyways. when i went to nurburgring you could barely se the cars because they were flying past us on the start/finish straight

Whats with all the empty stands? Man, they shouldnt have races in the US anymore, they just dont want. There's so many other countries where they could hold Grand Prix races... [rolleyes]
The stands at Indianapolis are built to hold A LOT of people for the Indy races. That's why it looks empty during F1 races even though there are still a lot of people there.

Good job Hamilton, two wins in a row! It really looks like he's got a shot at the championship in his first season! [thumbup]

There was something on the bbc news site a while ago about the powers that be yoinking the us gp. Ol' Bernie was saying it really wasn't needed since there's not much interest, no sponsors from there, and no american teams. My guess is they'll replace the Indy GP with the India GP.

Yep, I tried to get tickets for the race a few weeks ago but couldn't because it was sold out. The empty chairs you saw were never for sale.

I really doubt that. The stands at the end of the long straight (first corner) had few people sitting here and there. But most seats werent taken. So why would you sell only a few seats and seats that arent next to each other?

Anyway, they should rather bring the F1 back to Mexico or South Africa or Holland, where it gets the true appreciation by the crowds. Or explore new markets such as the Falkland Islands or Papua New Guinea.

I read somewhere they're looking at going back to mexico in a few years. And what about the new markets they have been going to - China, Turkey, Bahrain, soon Singapore.

Is there even anywhere on the Falklands that they could realisictly build a cicuit (assuming there isn't one already). And what about infrastructure for all the fans that you would hope would turn up. You'd have a race watched by thousands of sheep!

Hmm, then why wouldn't they sell me a ticket. I really wanted to go.

What is cracking me up is that the Spanish are really getting shirty about Alonso's performance. And they are laying blame with Hamilton being in a British team and getting preferential treatment. Even Alonso is moaning and bitching like a little boy.... not very good for the sport in that respect.... but Hamilton is doing wonders for it.

Increased interest, national pride [thumbup]
