If you are travelling at ~ constant velocity then the time intervals you consider when you travel half the distance to the wall each time, will be decreasing. There is nothing strange going on here... The time taken to get to the end is just the sum of the time taken to travel each half distance step right? But surely if the time taken is always finite on each step, the sum of a set of finite times over the infinite steps would be infinite. (it takes infinite steps like with the frog problem). However, there is a physics explanation for why we do get to where we want to go. It's to do with the fact that at certain time periods and certain lengths something else takes over... |
