I think all knives should be banned since their only purpose is for killing. [yawn]
I use a knife to eat my food while dining,..
tryed the same with a glock once and well,
It kinda ended in a mess.

@ everyone hating on LM,
Wow the guy made a comment like sooooooo many others here have made in the past about guns (including myself) and everyone seems to go apeshit.
Interesting,.. cut the guy some slack

btw to keep this thread derailed and full of prejudices,
Wtf is up with Asians lately ? (/bad humor off)

Do you use your guns to spread butter on toast then? Or to open packaging? Wait .. don't answer that.

You know that kinda reminded me of the Simpsons episode where Homer had a gun.
Shooting out lights etc [rofl]

In other news I hear Norton Enterprise Version to be really good, have you tried it?

Just incase you don't understand, Knives are banned from being carried upon your person, but if you do feel like sleeping with one under your pillow, no body will batter an eye lid, except maybe your boyfriend.

Actually, not really.

It's a fact the world is dangerous. You can shelter Johnny, Jimmy, and Jenny all you want, but eventually they will go out into the big bad world and possibly get killed.

Does it suck? Sure. Would I keep my kids inside and deprive them of being outdoors and leading as normal a life as possible just so I can keep them "safe"? No.

And actually, knives are banned in the DC area if it's longer than 3 inches.

It's a tool. And what happened is unfortunate, but why not solve the source of the problem instead of the tool used to carry it out? Based on what happened in various cities in the US, when they've outlawed certain weapons, they just came up with new ones. Ash baseball bat cut down and turned into a mace anyone? (No, I'm not kidding!)
Because people need SOMETHING to blame for tragedy. Humans can't just accept someone is bad by nature. . .it was the weapon they used that made them bad.

Take the V-Tech thing, or Columbine. People can't just accept that people can crack due to other people. . .it has to be because weapons are readily available, and there's bad music and video games to be had.

But whatever. . .god forbid people just accept others can be screwed in the head and find a weapon illegally. That's just totally impossible.

Details are a bit thin on the ground, but there's a news story about the incident here.

I don't really know why, but I'm surprised to read that the person arrested is 60 years old. When I first read stestan's original post, I had assumed that it was a youth-on-youth crime.

Thank you! I was just posting the obligatory Bungle "should be banned" statement that he posts in EVERY gun thread, regardless of its connotation. I feel bad for the victims and their friends and loved ones, but as Golem pointed out...

As for why I'm here? Nothing better to do really... I can't work with a broken wrist, so in between personal business meetings and studying for new certs I have free time to peck out posts with my good hand. Things have been going well with the businesses, as we're doing a technology demo for investors next week; so we're one step closer to getting the money we need to get off the ground. Aislinn's out of law school and passed the bar, and we're looking at places to move into together sometime this summer. Ciao!
No-one cares.

I've tried for the 6 years I've been here, but obviously some people are too thick to understand it.
I guess if no one's agreed with you after 6 years it's a pretty **** argument you have there. I guess 'some people' being too thick isn't the problem.

I know where he's coming from though. I've tried so many times to explain that I'm King of the Spider People but like Micron I seem to be surrounded by fools who won't listen.

By Asian did you mean "Oriental" or "Indian/Pakistani"

I only ask cause generally I only tend to hear about this stuff from the Pakistani side, never hear anything about oriental guys doing this stuff.

Not to start an all out argument but considering its just some forum users on this site who don't agree with him doesn't make his opinion/point invalid.

I could find thousands of people who agree with him and disagree with you in my city alone.

My point is that its rather silly to argue the validity of an opinion on an internet forum and this forum is very biased on many subjects.

Many members here think the whole world sees things the same way because of this forum or another who share a similar majority opinion; but the truth is its rather 50/50.

I could find plenty of forums that are totally biased opposite of this forum's members opinions. Of course everyone here would just say they're idiots and they'd say the same about you.

So why don't we just drop the whole thing guys? You too LM, its a waste of time and all this bickering does is get people riled up over nothing and waste bandwidth.

hah I'm not getting riled up.. I just think that making a comment like that is stupid, he's in effect say that knives are as dangerous and as easy to kill with as guns. It's a poor argument.
