Hmm, I think I saw this on Animal Planet last year. The baby baboon didn't survive.

A bit dramatised (winter chill in Africa?) but pretty fascinating. I think large carnivores are very intelligent, more than people give them credit for, and this shows another layer to the complexity. You could just say it's instinct, but if so then it must be the same for us.
