No no, you have it wrong, Toy Poodle is a breed, it wasn't actually a 'toy' Poodle.
I know what a toy poodle is. Little annoying ugly yippy thing. And they're stupid too.

Read the first post of the thread, this poor bugger is upset he's taken a life and in doing so someone now has a tangible hole in their lives and for the moment he feels that absence too.
So when someone tells him they also feel bad for killing a squirrel and say's he knows it not the same because he didn't have to stand for ten minutes in mutual misery while holding the dead dogs former owner, this weazel twists his message of compassion and the rest of the thread isn't spent trying to help a forum member in pain it's spent trying to justify the difference between a squirrel and a dog.
Zeddo said he felt bad for each squirrel, if he didn't he wouldn't have mentioned it. But asking people to weigh their level of guilt in proportion to the animal they've accidentally killed just stinks to me.
I've not done much to help its true, but he's done this **** before with the train crash, and now he's doing it here with no consideration to other peoples feelings.
Hey I never said that I was against feeling guilt or sorrow for the OP.

If I ran over a dog or, and this is my point: any other animal, I'd still be shocked and a bit sad that I'd taken an intelligent aware being's life.

Regardless of whether it was wild or someones pet..

And what's with you anyway, you keeping a count of every opinion I have you don't agree with?

Well this thread took a weird turn! While I agree that killing anything is bad, a pet is very different. Wild squirrels don't have names or fuzzy beds to sleep in. They don't provide long term companionship to an older couple either. I would like to thank everyone for their kind words. Still think about that poor dog, but really it was an accident and I am very happy the owner understood that. Could have been really nasty about it.

one night i was driving when all of a sudden out of no where a animal which i thought was a cat ran right into my blazers tire... after a thumb thumb i seen 2 girls on the side of the road and one was screaming like crazy after she had just seen me run over this poor thing. i then look in my rear view and i see the other girl is trying to hold and calm the girl down.... i was mortified for 2 days until i drove by the same spot and realized it was just an opossum, i was a little relieved but still felt bad for them girls that had to watch me run it over

so i know your pain sorta because i thought it was a cat and i love cats to death and idk what i would do if my cat got hit by a car...the whole 2 days i was thinking to myself that could be my cat someday.....luckily my cat is an indoors and only gets out rarely. idk i just felt bad

good luck getting over it im sure you will, like with anything it just takes time

It's great to hear that the woman was so understanding, and by promising to go to her house over the weekend, you're showing you really do care.

Ok, here's one for you to lose sleep over: How is running over a squirrel less important than running over a dog?

Wait did I just say that AGAIN? Oh mercy...

It all happened so suddenly. I was just going for a short drive to get some snacks and as I was driving up my street (was dark out by now) a small black toy poodle jumped out from behind a parked car. I slammed on my breaks as hard as I could but hit him with my front wheel. The owner was right there talking to a neighbour and showing him the dog I guess. She was a very nice lady, very upset too. Guess she just got him in December and he was a bit of a problem dog. Lots of close calls with cars and I guess he was unlucky with me.

I feel so bad and she told me not too cause there was nothing I could do and it wasn't my fault. I know it really wasn't, but I cant help thinking about that poor puppy. We just got a new puppy a few weeks ago so I know what its like to have a new dog. I just kept thinking it didn't happen. She was so understanding though and its weird how two complete strangers can seemingly connect like that. We hugged for a good 10 minutes and I just kept telling her how sorry I was. I made her take my name and number and promised I would stop by on the weekend.

All I can think about is that puppy . I am glad it was a instant death though. Well there it is, my first accident in 2.5 years of driving, and the car is fine, but I took a life.
Your second will be easier, young padawan.

Sad news indeed, fortunately the owner was understanding. I ran over a neighbors cat one night, and she called the police on my ass. [surrender] Since the police didn't do anything, she decided to sue me a few weeks later... [thumbdown][cursing]

You are apparently one who does not see a difference between running over a persons pet and then having to deal with them about it and running over a squirrel and having to only deal with yourself about it. Again, and again, and again, and again this has been pointed out to you. You stand on an island all by yourself. An island apparently called "Idiots Paradise". Enjoy yourself.
